I had the same error, uninstalled the game, reinstalled from scratch, applied patch 1.2.8 and at last 1.2.9, now it works
How is this game already at 1.2.9 when, as of Feb 21, only 1.2.3 patch (Build 17432078) has been released as a public build (at least on Steam anyway)?
